Hydrangeas in bloom at Mimurotoji, kyoto

Every June during the rainy season, the ideal spot to view the hydrangeas is this temple nestled in the mountains of Uji City in Kyoto called Mimurotoji. In 2020, its even more special because the tourist hordes are not here to overtake the area and the temple can be enjoyed in peace. Love all of the variations of color of the hydrangeas. They usually start blooming a week or so into June and then goes on for a couple of weeks. There are 10,000 hydrangeas so they will be in various stages of bloom for a couple of weeks. Mimurotoji is beautiful even when no flowers are blooming. Always worth a visit.
